There’s a bull market somewhere…
This is a weekly chart for orange juice futures. Due to a bad harvest in Florida, this commodity is seeing a squeeze.
(Yes, pun intended. You can’t talk about orange juice without making that joke.)
This market reminds me of one of my favorite Christmas movies, Trading Places.
A young Eddie Murphy works as a foil against Dan Akroyd as they conspire to strike it rich in the markets.
Using a gorilla costume, they find a way to steal some crucial insider information about the Florida crop harvest.
The bad guys try to corner the orange juice futures market, but they are operating on bad data.
When the crop report is released, there’s a panic, and our friends are able to make out like bandits.
Of course, what they did is very illegal… but it does show how having just a small piece of information can lead to an outsized edge.
And, contrary to popular belief, there’s a way to get legitimate inside information 100% legally.
We’ve been using it for years to find stock opportunities like 198%, 421%, and 608%.
